Weight Concept for Most Routes

Under the weight concept, your Emirates baggage allowance is based on the total weight of all your checked bags.

• You can check in as many bags as you want, as long as the combined weight stays within your limit.
• Each bag must not exceed 32 kg.
• This rule applies to most routes, except for flights to or from the Americas and some from Africa (for tickets issued before 9 August 2021).

Bag Size Limits:

• The total sum of dimensions, length, width, and height of each piece must be under 300 cm (118 inches).
• If you are flying from Dammam International Airport, the limit is 215 cm (84.6 inches) per bag.
• Bags that are over the size limit will not be accepted.

Piece Concept (Americas & Africa Routes)

For certain flights, depending on your fare or class type, especially to/from the Americas and from Africa, your baggage allowance is based on the number of bags and the weight of each bag, not total weight.

The piece concept rule applies to all flights to or from the Americas, flights from or into Africa if the ticket is issued on or after 9 August 2021.

• If you are flying from Asia, Australia, or New Zealand to South or North America via Europe or with a stopover in Dubai for over 24 hours, the weight concept applies.
• The same applies if you’re flying into Africa with a stopover of over 24 hours.

Bag Size Limits for Piece Concept:

• Each bag’s total size, by adding length, width, and height, must be under 150 cm (59 inches).
• Oversized bags up to 300 cm (118 inches) or 215 cm (84.64 inches) if flying from Dammam International Airport, will incur extra fees.
• Bags bigger than these limits cannot be checked in and must be shipped as cargo or freight.

• You can carry liquids like gels, aerosols, creams, drinks, pastes, lotions, foams, sprays, and other similar items in containers of 100 ml (3.4 oz) or less in a 1-liter clear plastic bag.
• Some exceptions over 100 ml of liquid include baby food, baby milk, sterilized water, and liquid medication with a prescription or proof if needed.

Unusual Baggage and Special Allowances

Passengers with Disabilities:

• You can bring collapsible wheelchairs, braces, crutches, and dialysis equipment for free.
• Assistance dogs must travel in the hold and are not allowed in the cabin.
• CPAP/PAP machines are allowed in checked baggage (subject to safety rules).

Passengers Traveling with Infants (Under 2 Years):

• Cabin bag: One bag up to 5 kg (55 x 38 x 22 cm).
• Checked bag: Up to 10 kg (most routes); some Americas/Africa routes may not include it.
• You can also bring one stroller, car seat, or bassinet for free.

Sports Equipment:

• Items like golf clubs, skis, bikes, and surfboards are accepted as checked baggage within your free baggage allowance.
• To carry a bicycle, you must notify Emirates 24 hours in advance.
• Items over 300 cm in total size must go as cargo or freight.

Pets:

• Pets are not allowed in the cabin (except falcons on select routes).
• They must travel as checked baggage or cargo.
• Charges are based on the combined weight and size of the animal and its cage, and documents must be ready in advance.

Musical Instruments:

• There’s no special or extra free allowance for musical instruments.
• They count as part of either your checked or cabin baggage, depending on size and weight.
• To carry larger instruments in the cabin, you need to purchase an extra seat.
• If the instrument causes your baggage to exceed standard limits, excess baggage fees will apply.

Oversized or Overweight Baggage:

• Bags exceeding size or weight limits may be accepted for extra charges or need to be shipped separately.
