Flight Cancellation Policy

Free cancellation for 24 hours

Certainly, in certain situations, you can cancel bookings within 24 hours of booking, provided that it was made at least 7 days before departure. The requirements are based on the fare and 24-hour regulations.

Non-refundable and refundable tickets.

The refundable tickets can be cancelled and the refund given back in the original payment method, at times with a fee. Unused taxes can typically be refunded, though non-refundable tickets do not typically offer this option, or travel credits can be given such as required by regulations on fares.

Voluntary cancellations

The cancellations are allowed after 24 hours, based on the fares. Economy Light fares are usually non-refundable, and higher Flex fares in Economy, Lufthansa Premium Economy seats and Business can be cancelable with reduced or no fees.

Non-voluntary cancellations

If the airlines cancel your flight, or schedule a significant change in your flight, you will be able to rebook a flight on Lufthansa at no charge on the next flight you can board, or refund all your money. Carry-on.

  • Economy Class: 1 carry-on bag of up to 8 kg (55 x 40 x 23 cm) and 1 personal bag (including a handbag or laptop bag).
  • Economy Light: It also just carries on baggage, but with the same size and weight capacity.
  • Business/First Class: Two carry-on bags (8 kg or less each) and a personal item.

Checked Baggage.

  • Economy Class: 1 checked bag (max. 23 kg). Free checked baggage is not provided in economy light fares.
  • Premium Economy: 1 checked bag (or 1-2 bags), weighing 23 kg each (by fare and route).
  • Business and First Class: 32kg per item. Checked baggage with a size of 158 cm (length + width + height) maximum.

Excess Baggage.

Any additional baggage over and above the free allowance is billed at a fixed excess rate. Pieces exceeding 32 kg cannot be used as checked baggage and have to be shipped as air cargo.
