Flight Change Policy

Online Adjustments: To adjust your trip, date, or the number of people in this flight, you go to the section of Manage Trips on the American Airlines site or app, as the airline is under the name of American Airlines.

Eligibility: You will see the Change My Booking option in case you can make changes to your fare. A change fee and any difference in fare may be charged depending on the type of ticket.

Same-Day Changes: Within 24 hours of departure, you may make a change via the American Airlines app or visit the airport ticket counter or gate at least 45 minutes before departure and be put on standby. In case verified, then you will be given another boarding pass and receipt.

Flight Cancellation Policy

Free Cancellation for 24 Hours

You can cancel the booking within 24 hours of purchasing a ticket at no charge and get a complete refund in case you book at least seven days before the flight.

Non-Refundable and Refundable Tickets.

• The eligibility for the refund depends on the type of fares. The flexible fares also give you the option of cancelling or rescheduling your flight and getting a refund back in your initial method of payment.
• The non-refundable or discounted fares are not usually refunded in cash, but some of the taxes or charges used can be refunded in the form of travel vouchers to be used in future.

Voluntary Cancellations

• It is possible that in case of cancellation after the 24-hour period, cancellation charges or no-show charges might apply based on your fare policy.

• First/business class: You can check two bags. Each bag can weigh up to 32 kg.

Fees

• First bag checked: The U.S., Canada, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico charge a $25 fee on the first bag checked.
• Second bag: The second bag will be priced at $35.
• The bag fee is also applied to overweight baggage: An overweight bag (23-32kg) will cost Economy passengers, and an overweight bag (32-45kg) will cost Economy passengers, 60 and 100, respectively.
